Helping you reconnect with yourself and others, restore emotional balance, and find a way forward that feels meaningful and hopeful.
Depression Therapy

Depression can feel heavy, quiet, and isolating.
It can show up as lack of motivation, disconnection, or a sense that something just isn’t the same.
Over time, it can start to feel like this is just how life will always be.
Therapy can help you slow down, understand what’s underneath the surface, and begin to reconnect with yourself in a way that feels supportive, compassionate and sustainable.
A holistic approach to depression therapy in Austin
At Flourish, we believe healing from depression is not just about managing symptoms. It is about restoring connection, vitality, and a sense of purpose.
Our work is rooted in an integrative framework that helps you reconnect with your body, mind, and emotional world. We understand that depression often reflects more than mood alone—it can be shaped by nervous system dysregulation, unresolved experiences, lifestyle factors, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and the ways your body has adapted over time.
Treatment methods used include:
- Attachment-based therapy
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Interpersonal neurobiology
- EMDR (trauma reprocessing)
- Polyvagal-informed therapy
- Self-compassion practices
- Sensorimotor / Somatic therapy
- Mindfulness-based interventions
Woven together, these modalities support you in developing secure attachment patterns, emotional awareness, and the capacity for deeper, more fulfilling relationships.

A Personal Message from Our Founder
“After living through significant trauma and years of medications that never healed the root cause, I knew there had to be a different way forward.
Through mindfulness practices, functional medicine, and truly holistic care, I shifted from merely treating symptoms to actively cultivating lasting wellness.
Flourish was created to share that framework — so no one has to feel as powerless and stuck as I once did. Healing is possible, and you deserve to flourish.”

What does depression therapy help with?
Depression therapy can help with persistent low mood, lack of motivation, fatigue, emotional numbness, negative thought patterns, and feeling disconnected from yourself or others.
How do I know if I need therapy for depression?
If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unlike yourself for an extended period—and it’s impacting your daily life, relationships, or sense of well-being—therapy can provide meaningful support.
Is depression always caused by trauma?
Not always. Depression can be influenced by a combination of factors, including nervous system patterns, life stress, emotional experiences, and physical health. A holistic approach helps address all contributing layers.
Can therapy help if I’ve already tried other approaches?
Yes. Many people come to Flourish after trying other treatments. Our integrative approach often helps uncover root causes and provide new tools that feel more aligned and effective.
Do you accept health insurance?
Currently, we have two therapists who accept insurance. These insurances include Aetna, BCBSTX, UHC, Oxford and Cigna.
The other therapists that do not accept insurance can provide a ‘Superbill’. If you have out of network coverage with your insurer, this document is used to submit a claim for possible reimbursement.
Please check with your insurance carrier about “Out of Network” (OON) coverage. Reimbursement can be as much as 70% but there is usually a deductible.
We also accept payment from HSA/FSA accounts. Psychotherapy, ketamine therapy and some nutritional services are eligible for HSA/FSA.
What are your private pay rates?
Our rates for individual and couples sessions range between $80 – $180. The rate is dependent on the service, therapist, frequency, and availability. Some therapists offer a limited number of sliding scale spots. If this is something you are interested in, please mention this in your initial inquiry.
Are there differences between a therapist, psychotherapist, and counselor?
At Flourish, we use the term psychotherapist to define our role as long term therapists. We believe a long term therapeutic relationship develops healthy relationship skills for our clients. These skills can improve current or new relationships with friends, family and colleagues. Additionally, the term psychotherapist differentiates our work from other therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and massage.
